| The California Men's Center San Diego is a place ahead of it's time. The founder, Harry Crouch, started this adventure a while back and the place just keeps growing. Harry has had a lot of experience in a lot of arenas. I met Harry at a Father's Group meeting in Carlsbad a few years ago. He introduced himself as a men's rights activist and asked if I would be interested learning more about it. I said no I just wanted more time with my kids. Harry explained why I should be involved in men's issues if I wanted more time with my kids. That was the beginning for me. Harry was able to establish the San Diego Men's Center by donating his own time, energy, connections, and money. Harry is not independently wealthy as far as I know. Harry used to take my 3 page responses to my borderline personality disordered former spouse and cut them to two sentences. Now Harry has the Center as a meeting place for the Coalition of Parent Support, a Second Wives Club, the National Coalition of Free Men, and PaternityFraudDNA which offers paternity DNA testing services for those who do not know if their child is really theirs. I plan on working with Harry at the Center and continue to be a part of this much needed facility to help fathers, their families and the women that love them. Kevin M Young September 6, 2006 |
